Purpose

Putting out fires and turning water wheels to activate mechanisms such as platforms or doors.

The Water Cannon, known in Japan as the Mizudeppō (ミズデッポー), is one of three Gadgets introduced in Ape Escape 2. It is a gadget used is a cannon that sprays a stream of water which can be used to put out fires, stun Monkeys and defeat some enemies.

Appearance[]

The Water Cannon fits over the player's right arm and looks similar to a blue fire hydrant with a faucet knob on top. When the gadget is in use, the front of the hydrant opens like a lid and the knob spins as the stream of water is fired out.

Uses[]

The Water Cannon has the ability to put out fires. Without this Gadget, the player cannot walk through it. To use it, rotate the Right Analog Stick to spray water, and use the Left Analog Stick to move around. The Water Cannon can also be used to repair damaged vehicles, such as the tank.

  • The Water Cannon, along with the Bananarang and the Electro Magnet, are the only Gadgets that do not appear in Ape Escape 3.
  • The Water Cannon and the Electro Magnet are the only Gadgets from Ape Escape 2 that are not in Spike's arsenal in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.
  • The Water Cannon's icon in the E3 trailer for Ape Escape 2 is similar to an actual water gun, rather than the final design.
